The Father Collins Park is Dublin City Council’s flagship 16ha urban park, designed to the highest contemporary standards, including landscape, art and architecture as dynamic elements. 

The park is dominated by five 30m high wind turbines and a 360m long promenade running through the length of an artificial lake from North to South of the site. This work involved substantial in-situ concrete foundations for turbines with extensive ducting and the construction of an electrical substation building. A manmade lake of approx. 4 acres was also constructed and included various features such as vehicle and pedestrian bridges to the promenade, a performance stage, a grass-covered amphitheatre and wetland areas. Two additional major water features involved underground tanked storage reservoirs and also included a substantial 10-meter-high in-situ concrete waterfall. The park also included the construction of 4 full-size all-weather grass football pitches and training area, a skate park, playgrounds, recreation areas, health stations, maintenance yard & buildings, running & cycle tracks, public toilets, bench seating and boundary walls and entrances, extensive hard and soft landscaping and planting.

Quantities: Sport field grass areas 47,835m2, general amenity grass areas 75,245m2, topsoil strip 173,443m2, lake bulk dig 30,000m3, amphitheatre fill 10,000m3, drainage: 290m of Ø600mm, 625m of Ø450mm, 4,760m of Ø300-Ø150, drainage of pitches: 8,450m lateral drains and 48,750m slit tranches.
