Client: Gannon Properties
The Company acted as the main contractor and PSCS.
Phase 1 (2003):
Construction of a large-scale surface car park at Dublin Airport catering for 3,500 vehicles, incorporating pay stations and toll building, over an area of approximately 100,000m2. The work involved an extensive tie-in with the existing Airport Road, and an extensive traffic management plan was put in place to minimise the amount of disruption to this busy road. Other works included all associated drainage, floodlighting and boundary treatments.
Phase 2 (2008):
In order to cater to the high volumes of public users of this facility, a second phase was constructed to accommodate an additional 2,700 spaces and upgrade the existing toll station area. Phase 2 works were carried out whilst the initial phase was fully operational, and access was only available to Phase 2 from Phase 1. A Traffic Management Plan, including the design of safe pedestrian access walkways, was put in place to ensure that the general public's safety was not compromised by construction traffic.
Constant liaison with the Client and Car Park Operator was crucial for the construction of Phase 2 to minimise the amount of disruption caused to the public and maintain the maximum revenue for Phase 1 parking.
The car park was fully renovated in 2012
The standings were newly stoned and re-graded. The main car park roads were newly re-surfaced and line-marked. The drainage system was upgraded, and new electric charging stations were constructed.
